Elimination Challenge: go to Island Creek Oyster Farm to gather their own ingredients, make an appetizer and an entree. They get help from a family member and the appetizer must be fully executed by that family member.
The elimination challenge is NOT and elimination challenge at all- no one goes home, but the winner makes it into the finals.
Mei is cracking me up about her brother, she is definitely an older sister ;)
And I love that Mr. Tony is always the boss- good thing no one is getting eliminated!
Oysters always make be think of Alice in Wonderland... lol
It must be so stressful worrying about what your family member is doing and trying to cook a complex dish at the same time- this is a hard challenge.
Impressed with Mei's brother and her instruction- they did good. They really loved that broth!
Ap: Oyster With Soy-Yuzu Vinaigrette and Radish
Gregory had a miss with his dish which is too bad- too much attention on his sister's plating. His sister's dish ended up being better than his!
Ap: Tomato-Watermelon Soup With Pickled Cucumber and Shrimp
Entree: Halibut With Oysters, Mussels, and Dashi
George worked well with his dad and his dish looked really good, craving it! The puree was spot on!
Ap: Grilled Oysters With Razor Clams and Cucumber
Entree: Butter-Poached Lobster With Sunchokes
Melissa and her mom are so cute! Her dish also looked insanely good. She had the best lobster!
Ap: Egg Custard With Shitake Mushrooms, Clams, and Lobster
Entree: Butter-Poached Lobster With Onion Soubise and Pea Puree
They picked their winner pretty quickly!
Judges table was the dinner table which is intimidating, plus their family members were there too!
Mei and Melissa ended up on top! but there can only be one winner, and that is: Melissa! She is in the finale! Yay women chefs!!!!
