QuickFire- Use everything in the gift box to make a dish! Sounds like they took a challenge from Food Network's Chopped! I like challenges like this, they really have to get creative! I actually went to a party in HS like this. We all brought an ingredient and then broke into 2 teams, had to draw for ingredients and then make a meal using everything. It was fun in case anyone wants to try it out!!!
Shirley got screwed with the mellon baller! Glad it wasn't sudden death!
Naughty list: Shirley, Emily and BJ... BJ has been SO underwhelming!
Nice list: Brooke, Casey and John, but the winner was Casey! Yeah girl!!!
Elimination Challenge! Mike Lata is the guest judge, and he's fire Emily- Oops! Never burn bridges!!! You never know who you might have to work with later in life!!! Challenge is to create your take on the Feast of Seven Fishes using Trash Fish!!! Fish that get tossed normally. I actually LOVE this challenge! They should not just be trashing fish because stupid people are not aware of them!
Casey -Amberjack. She's been a beast! I am not sure being alone is really a prize here though, no one to keep you in check and help!!!
Katsuji and John- Trigger Fish. This is a hilarious pairing, I can't tell if Katsuji is really serious or not...
Shirley and Sheldon- Mullet Fish. These are two great chefs, I think they're going to crush!
Emily and Brooke- Blackbelly Rose. Emily is being sneaky, I have a feeling she will turn on Brooke and blame her for everything if it goes bad! That or she's just super freaked out about Mike Lata and can't even function.
Sylva and Jamie- Tunny. Jamie has been pretty meh, curious to see how this goes for them.
BJ and Silvia- Barrel Fish. Silvia has been a powerhouse, I think she will save BJ this round.
Jim and Amanda- Gray Tilefish. I like this pairing, they're both really good and people tend to underestimate them I think! Amanda is a bit cra-cra though!!!
And the judging....
Shirley and Sheldon- Mullet Fish. Lots of bones still in the fish, too bad. They were really creative though and the judges liked everything else!
Sylva and Jamie- Tunny. They made the fish look really good. They overall handled with fish great!
Emily and Brooke- Blackbelly Rose. They didn't feel like the fish worked well with the rest of the components and prep. Having a team-mate is good when you need to edit, and even though Brooke is great, she needed Emily to participate and not just be a "yes man!"
BJ and Silvia- Barrel Fish. Too bad the fish was so firm. Everything else went well for them though.
Katsuji and John- Trigger Fish. They somehow came out with a dish the judges really loved! Shocked, so were they! hahahaha
Jim and Amanda- Gray Tilefish. They have a good idea but not a great execution. The beans are undercooked, you cannot do that!!! So basic!
Casey -Amberjack. Everything seemed to go wrong for her and since she was all alone, she didn't have any help. She could not get her dish made- epic fail!
Verdict:
Top: Sheldon and Shirley, Jamie and Sylva, John and Katsuji. But the winning team is John and Katsuji, with Katsuji's sauce earning him the win! Maybe he doesn't hate John as much anymore?
Bottom: Emily and Brooke, BJ and Silvia, Jim and Amanda. Casey is SO lucky!!! Emily then has a meltdown- she really had a lot to prove but didn't throw Brooke under the bus like I expected. In the end, BJ finally gets the axe! He's been in the competition too long if you ask me!
Team Bug has been getting crushed, hopefully things will turn around now with just Shirley and Jim- both great chefs!!!
