Episode 6- The First Thanksgiving

I love Tiffani, it was fun to see her surprise the chefs!!! Awesome to see all the cranberries, yum- I didn't know OceanSpray was a co-op! So, the first 4 to fill their buckets get an advantage in the next challange- I don't think these chefs workout much!

Quickfire: Create a dish that showcases Cranberry! The winners of the cranberry collection (Katie, Adam, Greg and Doug) get to use higher-end ingredients! Katie's dish does NOT sound good... she is definitely a risk taker! Katsuji's also looks like a flop- eww Skirt Steak?! I want to eat Doug's, Melissa's and Mei's personally...

Bottom: Katsuji, Adam, Stacy
Top: Doug, Katie and Mei

The QuickFire winner is Katie, for being creative! She gets immunity with the Cranberry Borscht With Crème Fraîche, Charred Brussels Sprout, and Pancetta!

Elimination Challenge: Good a traditional Thanksgiving Feast, they mean "traditional"- and the ingredients look incredible!!! I wish Thanksgiving used those ingredients today- way better than stupid turkey!
However they have to cook traditionally too- no stoves or gadgets! Good to see everyone work together and help each other! With Aaron gone- they seem to all mesh better together!

I think everyone used Ramps... just saying! Everyone also did a good job! Padma was on Fallon last night and talked about how much she liked this challenge and how good everyone did! (She also gave some good Thanksgiving Dinner tips!!!) You can watch HERE!

On top we have:
Doug with Spit-Roasted Rabbit With Garlic, Ramps, Hazelnuts, Chesnuts, and Radish
Katsuji with Roasted Butternut Squash With Poached Lobster, Chestnuts, and Ancho Chile Butter
Mei with Duck Fat Roasted Cabbage With Trout Vinaigrette

And the winner is: Katsuji

On the Bottom: Melissa, Stacy and Greg

And Stacy is going home for her dirty tasting Ramp-Smoked Clams With Butternut Squash, Lobster, and Ramps!

I think the judges made the right choice, although it was a hard one since her dish looked tasty! It's getting tough, the chefs that are left are all pretty decent... I think Keriann might be next if I had to put money on it...

  1. Thank god Le Chefre's anchor is gone! I think we are in great shape to get more points than Pickely and win some tasty beverages from Herpes, Decongested. In fact, if we had drafted anyone else but Stacy, Le Chefre would be leading in points. Katsuji on your face!

It's always nice when the chefs bring their 'A' game and everyone cooks something delicious.

  2. I can't believe how good of a chef Katsuji is turning out to be, I really thought he was going to be a huge train wreck, especially after the first episode. But he's creative & the judges are appreciating that! I agree/hope that Keriann should be next to go, she definitely seems like the weakest chef left.

  3. I put the full on Jinx on team V,D last week with my comments. But this will be the last little bit of motivation Greg needs before powering through to Victory.

The challenge was hard and I'm glad they are moving into Restaurant Wars next. We'll see who can handle it.

I still see some negative points headed Katsuji's way (along with some positive ones). He is creative and a risk taker, but he will have some mishaps because of it. Just depends on if his dish is the worst or the best.

Certainly a tighter race... for now.
