Episode 1- Soiree in the Swamp!

Well we were all together for this so there isn't that much to say on here. The chefs were given Beads with Turtle, Alligator or Frog on them, then they had to create a dish highlighting that Louisiana delicacy!

I think we were all pretty shocked when Nina took the win with her Curried Turtle Meatball, Chayote Slaw, and Chutney with Raisins:

I am curious to see how far she makes it now!

We then said goodbye to Ramon after his Braised Turtle with Thai Dashi just couldn't cut it!

So far 51st state is totally under the radar! Le'Chefre ended up taking Stephanie Cmar which ended up being the best Dreg anyone could imagine! And as expected, Jason Cichonski is a cocky SOB who just had to be the 1st to cut himself!  Should be an interesting season full of surprises!!!

Ep 2: Rebuilding New Orleans: Gumbo is a dish that gets better over time. For their first Quickfire Challenge, the cheftestants work overnight to perfect dishes for legendary chef, Leah Chase. And for the Elimination Challenge, the cheftestants are tasked with creating and operating food trucks to feed Habitat for Humanity volunteers helping to rebuild New Orleans after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
